TACITA DYNAMICS

TACITA DYNAMICS provides innovative vibration-damping solutions for a wide range of markets including defence, naval, aerospace, space, air conditioning, household appliances, and transport.
Transfer project
Initially developed for use in the aerospace industry, a number of other potential sectors of application have been identified for the technology. TTT has been involved throughout the maturation process: subcontracting market research, technical maturation, maintaining intellectual property & registering expertise, and providing support for business start-ups. The start-up also joined the “Lanceur d’étoiles” support scheme.
Development
The technology was developed as part of a collaboration between the Institut Clément Ader/ISAE and Liebherr Aerospace.
The company
TACITA DYNAMICS offers innovative solutions that reduce the amplitude of vibrations by up to 80% over a wide frequency range, with only 1% added mass.
The robustness and simplicity of design of this device make it suitable for all market sizes.
The start-up handles vibration characterisation, feasibility studies/R&D (design, development and testing of prototypes dedicated to the needs of its customers) and the production of vibration damping devices.

Tacita Dynamics: an innovative solution to combat vibrations
Tacita Dynamics, a start-up from Isae-Supaéro, has developed a simple, robust system for capturing and dissipating vibration energy, called "AirNES". This module encloses a membrane separating two chambers with a perforated mass in the centre. "As the mass vibrates, it deforms the membrane, creating pressure differences that force the air to circulate. As such, you generate aerodynamic load losses, which are a key element in our innovation”, explains Guilhem Michon, Director of Research at Isae-Supaéro and Co-founder of Tacita Dynamics.
Fifteen years of research
Behind this apparent simplicity lies fifteen years of complex research. “We had to understand the physical phenomena behind the equations, then see how we could harness them in the simplest possible way to turn them into an applied solution”, Guilhem Michon points out.
Collaboration with industry
The prospect of a marketable product emerged through a collaboration with Liebherr, which specialises in air systems for the aerospace industry. A patent was filed in 2021, paving the way for the creation of Tacita Dynamics.
SATT support and development
After a maturation phase in 2022, SATT Toulouse Tech Transfer acquired a stake in the start-up in 2024. Tacita Dynamics has established links with manufacturers such as Airbus Defence and Space and is targeting the aerospace sector. “It’s a very good market for developing the technology, pushing it as far as possible and having regular research activities", says co-founder François Dorgeret.
Perspectives
Supported by the Nubbo incubator, Tacita Dynamics is going to strengthen its team and take part in the i-Lab competition, having obtained the French Tech Emergence grant. "This will also enable us to develop new technological building blocks to enhance our product range", concludes François Dorgeret.
